Zephaniah Free Education is an initiative started by a single woman who has been working her whole life in Punjab, Pakistan to raise the status of women through Education and Empowerment Sister Zeph is a woman who initiated this educational change when she was just 13 years old. Now, seventeen years later despite threats and being shot at the home she has been able to bought a small single room place in installments, The room is extremely small and not feasible in the long run since she has taken in over 200 girls under her wings. Not only is the room small but it is extremely unsafe on the country side of Pakistan and even on a regular occurrence girls walking home from school get harassed and then shunned from their family as a consequence of this danger. Despite all of these obstacles Sister Zeph and teachers at the small educational center keep moving forward and are teaching their students stitching, party makeup, hair dressing, bridle makeup, martial arts/ self defense, English, Adult basic education, awareness on health issues and computer skills. On May 16th, 2015 Zephaniah Free Education will be teaming up with an artist in America to teach art to her students. An International News Channel of Singapore (Channel News Asia) has made and aired her documentary ( http://www.channelnewsasia.com/tv/tvshows/bring-back-our-girls/flight-of-the-falcons/1696728.html) Named ( Flight of the Falcon) about her services and as a result of this Malala Yousafzai has mentioned ZFE on her Face book Page. These women are putting their very lives on the line everyday to create the change that they wish to see in the world despite any obstacles that come their way. Now we are asking for your help to donate to help us create a safer and larger space for the ever growing demand of students and education in Pakistan. The Educational Center needs funding for building, building safer walls and having more doors as well as supplies for their students. A single teachers monthly salary is just $50.00 a month and there are 7 teachers = $350.00 a month for all the teachers’ salaries, $100 for electricity every month bringing the total amount to $450.00 a month to keep the center running and every teachers salary paid. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. As you know or may not know Pakistan has a 90% illiteracy rate among females in tribal area and 48% in Punjab where sister Zeph works, Unfortunately Pakistan has one of the highest illiteracy rates in the world and the second largest out of school population. In this situation we should stand with sister Zeph to make her feel that she is doing something which is most needed in our world and that she is not alone. Your donation is raising the status of women in Pakistan through education and empowerment!
