Orange Tree Foundation is a tax-exempted, not-for-profit Educational Society, based in Karachi, Pakistan, that works to support education of deserving kids in mainstream schools. The program targets Karachi-based working families who are financially challenged yet at the same time, eager to provide the best available education standard to their children.
Orange Tree started off in 2011 by a group of men and women who wanted to utilize their resources to support education of children in mainstream schools of Karachi. For two years, its founding members and private sponsors funded the Program. It was officially registered as an Educational Society in 2013.
Children are admitted between the ages of 2-4 years. They are prepared for one year at Orange Tree Campus to enable them to sit for admissions in leading schools across Karachi, Pakistan. Orange Tree continues to support these students until they finish their professional education. Child’s health and security are also given priority in the program.
With the rise in inflation and social pressures, the quality of life of these families is further deteriorating with time. It remains an unfulfilled dream for these families to educate their children in mainstream schools. Our aim is to identify families that uphold the value of education, are passionate to pursue good quality education and are willing to work hard to improve their own standard of life. Families targeted include those working as office peons, runners, drivers, tailors, salesmen, and computer operators and/or similar working class segment. The Program seeks Karachi based families with at least one parent who is primary educated.
The Foundation supports the expenses related to the sponsored kid’s education and health, also ensuring that the child completes his/her education and is taken to a professional level in the respective career of his/her choice.
